J&J shot halved Covid-19 infections in health workers

 

Initial results from Sisonke study trials, released in August, showed J&J’s single-dose vaccine was about 70% effective against hospitalisation and as much as 96% effective against death. Almost 500 000 health workers were involved in the trial, The trial didn’t include the use of a placebo. The final results which include three sets of data from private insurers and the government, will be submitted for publication in days, said Prof Glenda Gray, co-leader of the Sisonke study.
