Nicholas Crisp appointed acting director-general of health

Dr Nicholas Crisp has been appointed acting director-general of the National Department of Health (DoH) after the suspension of director-general Sandile Buthelezi. He is currently the deputy director general of the DoH. Buthelezi was asked to go on leave, reportedly after he was questioned about his role in the R150-m Digital Vibes scandal.

Crisp said he will be taking over “for a minimum of 10 days”.
